Man jailed for black marketeering train tickets
A mobile court today sentenced a man to three months jail for selling train tickets in the black market at Kamalapur Railway Station.
Gausul Azam, executive magistrate of Rapid Action Battalion, handed down the punishment to Anwar Hossain, 45, and ordered the authorities concerned to deposit Tk 26,800 recovered from his possession to the state exchequer.
Anwar was caught red-handed while he was selling train tickets in the black market at the station, Gausul told The Daily Star over phone.
Ear Hossain, Ansar commander of the station, said they detained Anwar around 7:30 am and recovered 12 tickets and around Tk 26,800 from his possession.
Then, they handed him over to the temporary Rab outpost at the station, he added.
Anwar admitted that he used to hire women to collect tickets and he later sold the tickets in the black market, Gausul said.
