Mother, daughter killed as bus hits auto-rickshaw in Feni

A woman and her two-year-old daughter were killed and three injured as a bus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Feni Sadar upazila this morning.  

The victims are Hasina Akhter, 28, wife of Md Sobuj of Bijoypur village in Fulgazi upazila of the district, and their daughter Umme Hafsa, 2.

Quoting locals, acting Officer-in-charge of Feni  Sadar Police station Rashed Khan Chowdhuri said a Feni-bound passenger bus hit the oncoming auto-rickshaw in Rajar Dokan area of Kajirbaag village on Feni-Parshuram road around 11:00am.

The mother and daughter died on the spot, the OC said.

Informed, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Feni Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Hasina’s brother identified the bodies.

The injured persons are admitted to the hospital. They are out of danger now, doctors of the hospital said.

Hasina along with her daughter was going to her home from her maternal house, her brother said.
