Six crash victims of the ill-fated US-Bangla Arilines plane have been buried.

Akhtara Begum, wife of Nazrul Islam, was buried at Rajshahi’s Gourhanga Graveyard this morning around 10:30pm, our local staff correspondent reports.

Prior to her burial, a namaz-e-janaza was held at Upashahar Krira Sangha at 9:30am where Rajshahi city Mayor Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, and former mayor Khairuzzaman Liton were present.

Her son in-law, Imran Ali confirmed the development to The Daily Star and said the body of her husband, Nazrul, who also died in the crash, is yet to arrive because the body is yet to be identified.

Meanwhile, Hassan Imam, and his wife Bilkis Banu, have been buried in Dhaka’s Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals’ Graveyard this morning, said Abdul Malek, brother of Banu.

They were among the five people from Rajshahi who died in the crash. One survivor Imrana Kabir Hashi is currently attending to treatment in Singapore.

SM Mahmudur Rahman was buried at his family graveyard at Laskardia, Nagarkanda upazila in Faridpur around 10:00am this morning, UNB reports.

His third namaj-e-janaza, attended by upazila chairman Syed Shahinuzzaman, upazila nirbahi officer Badruddoza Sumon, among others, was held at Laskardia Atikur Rahman High School around 10am.

In Gazipur, Faruk Ahmed Priok, 32, and his daughter Tamarra Prionmoyee, 3, were laid to rest at their Nagarhawla village home in Sreepur upazila this morning.

Prior to that, two namaz-e-janazas of Priok and his daughter were held at Abdul Awal College Ground and Nagarhawla village around 9:00am and 11:00am respectively.

At least 51 people, including 26 Bangladeshi nationals, were killed as the US-Bangla Airlines aircraft crashed and burst into flames at Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital of Himalayan county Nepal on March 13.

The bodies of 23 victims including Mahmudur, arrived in Bangladesh on Monday.

After second namaj-e-janaza of 23 Bangladeshis, who were killed in US-Bangla plane crash in Kathmandu, at Army Stadium in the capital on Monday, the bodies of the victims were handed over to their respective families.
