Detectives arrested 11 members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) at Uttara in Dhaka last night.

They also recovered books on Jihadi and explosive materials during the drive at Abdullahpur under Uttara West Police Station, according to a text message floated to media by DMP this morning.   

The detainees are Arif Ibne Khayer alias Rifat, Md Babu Munsi alias Masud Rana, Md Khorshed Alam, Omar Faruk, Md Alhaj Mia, Md Helal Uddin, Abdul Based, Md Sujat, Azhar Ali, Md Forhad Hossain and Mizanur Rahman.

During a press conference at the DMP Media Centre today, police claimed that the detainees in primary interrogation confessed of conspiring to attack VVIP, VIP and different important infrastructures of the country.

A case in this connection was filed with Uttara West Police Station.
