At least 12 shanties were gutted in a fire at the railway colony in Dhaka's Tejgaon area this evening.
The fire originated around 5:58pm from an earthen stove of a shanty, according to a official of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. On information, eight fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire around 7:30pm, Inspector Atiqul Alam Chowdhury of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters told The Daily Star.
No casualty was reported in the fire, he added.
