13 Bangladeshis returning home from Yemen
Thirteen Bangladeshi nationals, who took temporary shelter in Africa's Djibouti after evacuation from the war-torn country Yemen, are returning tonight.
"They are expected to land in the wee hours of tomorrow," SM Mahbubul Alam, counsellor at the Bangladesh mission in Kuwait told The Daily Star this evening.
Twelve of them are returning on a Fly Dubai flight and another on a Turkish airlines plane. They will land at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
In the meantime, a group of 160 Bangladeshis have boarded by an Indian ship from Al Hudaydah city of Yemen's capital Sana to reach Djibouti, he added.
Mahbub is now staying in Djibouti with a team of Bangladesh mission from Kuwait and Turkey to oversee the evacuation of the Bangladeshis from Yemen.
Earlier, around 50 to 60 Bangladeshis were waiting at the Aden port to get on a ship to go Djibouti.
But only some of them could board a local ship and the rests, who are still in the port will board another Indian ship by tomorrow, Mahbub said.
Nobody could reach Djibouti today till filling this report around 7:00pm. Now 19 Bangladeshis are waiting in Djibouti to return home, Mahbub added.
