2 BRTA men among 5 hurt in Gazipur eco-resort robbery
At least five people, including two officials of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), were injured as robbers swooped on them at an eco-resort in Gazipur Sadar upazila early today.
The incident took place around 2:30am when 25 to 30 men attacked the resort and took around Tk 20 thousand and several cell phones from the people who went to Bhabanipur Eco-resort for a picnic, our Gazipur correspondent reports quoting police.
The robbers also injured Wajed Hossain, 52, inspector of BRTA in Gazipur; Ashrafuzzaman, 55, an official of BRTA in Dhaka's Uttara area; his driver Nurul Islam, 50; and Ismail Hossain, a staff of the resort, said Najmul Haque, a sub-inspector (SI) of Hotapara police outpost under Joydebpur Police Station.
Of the injured, Asrafuzzaman is in critical condition, SI Najmul added.
The injured were rushed to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur for treatment.
