2 die after wall collapses from gas cylinder blast in N’ganj

Two people died and four others were injured after a wall collapsed on them following a gas cylinder explosion at a house in Rupganj area in Narayanganj.

The deceased were identified as Rakib, 25, and Shamim, 30, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

The incident occurred in Bhulta area around 3:00am when a leakage from a gas cylinder resulted in an explosion and a wall of the house collapsed following the impact.

The injured -- Liakat, 35, Ariful, 36, Hajrat Ali, 30 and Tarikul, 28, -- were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

All the deceased and injured are readymade garments workers and had rented the house together, the daily reports.

Confirming the incident, Inspector Bachchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH out post, said the bodies were sent to the morgue for autopsy.
