2 die on ‘liquor overdose’ in N'ganj

Two youths have died reportedly after drinking excessive liquor during a pre-wedding party in Narayanganj’s Siddhirganj.

The deceased were identified as locals Ashik Hossain, 20, and Akib Uddin, 24, our local correspondent reports quoting police.

They were drinking during a ‘holud’ party Wednesday night, said Shahin Shah Parvez, officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj Police Station.

“Four youths fell sick after drinking excessive liquor. They were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the duo succumbed today,” the OC said.

Two others are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The bodies have been kept at Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
