2 more 'drug dealers' killed in 'gunfight'
Teknaf police have again claimed yesterday that two drug dealers were shot dead when police intervened in a fight between armed gangs.
Hasan Ali, 38, and Hossain Prakash Kamal, 28, were accused in multiple criminal cases, said Pradip Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Model Police Station.
The OC on Friday gave a strikingly similar account of what he said was a gunfight that led to death of another suspected drug dealer.
About yesterday's “gunfight”, he said police went to Nayapara area after being informed that two groups of drug traffickers were engaged in a gunfight around 4:00am.
As a police team reached the scene, the armed gang members began to shoot at them, the OC said.
Officers retaliated and after the exchange of fire ended, police found the bullet-ridden bodies.
He also claimed that three policemen were injured in the incident and took treatment at a hospital.
Police recovered six locally made firearms, 25 bullets and 10,000 Yaba pills from the scene, Pradip said.
The bodies were sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
