2 ‘JMB militants’ held in Narayanganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) claimed to have arrested two members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Fatullah of Narayanganj early today.
The arrestees are Mehedi Hasan alias Murad, 24, of Bandar area of Narayanganj and Amanullah, 33, of Khawkhali upazila of Pirojpur, Nazmul Hasan, operations officer of Rab-11, told The Daily Star.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. On information that some JMB members were holding a secret meeting inside a madrasa in Fatullah, a team of Rab-11 conducted a drive there in the wee hours of today and arrested Mehedi and Amanullah, said the Rab official.
The elite force members also recovered huge numbers of books on extremism, leaflets and a laptop from their possession, he added.
