26 train passengers fined for travelling without tickets
A mobile court of Bangladesh Railway, in a drive, fined 26 passengers for travelling without tickets today.
Special Magistrate Noor-e-Alam Siddiquee, also a deputy secretary of railways ministry, realised Tk 4,600 fine from the passengers till 1:30pm, said Supiar Rahman, an administrative officer of the ministry.
While talking to reporters, Supiar said the mobile court conducts drives on a regular basis. However, today is the first time it conducted the drive during the Eid rush that began Friday.
The drive was going on till 2:10pm when the report was filed.
The railways ministry will continue the drive tomorrow, the Railway official added.
