A mobile court of Bangladesh Railway, in a drive, fined 26 passengers for travelling without tickets today.
Special Magistrate Noor-e-Alam Siddiquee, also a deputy secretary of railways ministry, realised Tk 4,600 fine from the passengers till 1:30pm, said Supiar Rahman, an administrative officer of the ministry.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. While talking to reporters, Supiar said the mobile court conducts drives on a regular basis. However, today is the first time it conducted the drive during the Eid rush that began Friday.
The drive was going on till 2:10pm when the report was filed.
The railways ministry will continue the drive tomorrow, the Railway official added.
