3 Bangladeshis killed in Saudi road crash

Nine people including three Bangladeshis were killed in a road accident in Riyadh of Saudi Arabia early today.

Nazmul Islam, director general of foreign ministry's West Asia region, confirmed the death of three Bangladeshis to The Daily Star.

At least 17 others were injured in the incident, he said. "Three of the dead were Bangladeshis while the others were Indians."

The victims were identified as Wahed Ali, hailing from of Jamalpur, Masud Mia, from Kishorganj and Alam Chand Mia from Tangail.

Seven of the injured were also Bangladeshis, Mohsin Chowdhury, director of the Wage Earners' Welfare Board of the expatriates' welfare and overseas employment ministry told The Daily Star.

He said the accident took place in Mazma area around 300km away off Riyadh between 3 to 4:00am Saudi Arabia time today.
