3 high-ups of edu ministry made OSD
Three officials of the education ministry were withdrawn and punitively made officer on special duty (OSD) today.
The decision came after a probe committee, headed by the ministry's Additional Secretary Ashoke Kumar Biswas, find that the trio's demanded 'Tk 10 lakh' as remuneration from Khulna University (KU) authorities for evaluating the university's infrastructure project.
The OSD officials are Swapan Kumar Gosh, joint chief of planning wing, Omar Mohammad Imrul Mohsin, and Nishat Zahan, both deputy chiefs of the wing, were attached to the planning ministry, according to an office order issue by the ministry today.
Earlier on 3rd May, the ministry opened an investigation into the allegation.
The committee was headed by Ashoke Kumar Biswas, additional secretary of technical wing of the ministry, was asked to submit a report in the shortest possible time.
The ministry formed the committee after the KU vice chancellor lodged a written complaint with it about the remuneration for a mid-term evaluation of the project whose term will end on June 30.
