Police arrested three suspected human traffickers in separate drives in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar early today.

Two of the detainees have been identified as Rahim Ullah alias Prakash Putia, 22, and Saddam Hossain, 30 while the third could not be named immediately.

Rahim and Saddam, who were picked up from their residence in Teknaf upazila, are brothers, Ataur Rahman Khandaker, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station, told our Cox's Bazar correspondent.

Rahim and Saddam were arrested following the kidnapping of a girl.

The law enforcers rescued the 16-year-old girl from a house in Terokhada upazila of Khulna after her father had complained to the police that the alleged traffickers had abducted the girl for sending her abroad.

Acting on the statements of the rescued girl, the police picked up Rahim and Saddam.

Meanwhile, police arrested alleged human trafficker Hamid Hossain from Teknaf last night.

Hamid is a member of an international human trafficking racket, the OC told The Daily Star.
