Three hundred and sixty-one Bangladeshis stranded in the coronavirus-hit Chinese city Wuhan will be brought back on a special flight early tomorrow.

A special flight of Biman Bangladesh will leave Dhaka for Wuhan around 3pm in this regard, said Health Minister Dr Zahid Maleque during a press briefing held at the VIP lounge of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this noon.

The flight supervised by the health ministry and physicians from Bangladesh Army is set to return to Dhaka early tomorrow, the minister also said.

The returnees consist of 19 families including a total of 18 children. They will be kept quarantined for 14 days due to safety reasons under the supervision of Bangladesh army at a makeshift hospital on the second floor of Ashkona Hajj Camp, Zahid Maleque also said.

Although a total of 376 Bangladeshis had registered for returning in the beginning, 15 of them cancelled later, the minister also said.

Following the briefing, Zahid Maleque visited the camp where the China-returnees will be kept.

Although, no living arrangements were seen at the camp this noon; beds, mosquito nets and food will be provided for living there soon, reports our correspondent quoting officials.
