7 burnt in Dhaka gas line blast

Seven people including six of a family were injured in a fire that broke out due to gas line explosion at a house in Senpara area of Dhaka early today.

The injured was identified as Amena Begum, 25, her husband Sajib, 30, father Delwar 60, mother Saleha, 50, sister Fatema, 12, bother Jahid, 15, son Arman, and their neighbour Shah Alam.

Abul Hasan, an assistant sub-inspector of Kafrul Police Station, said a leaked gas line blasted at a tin-shed house - in Senpara Parbat area around 1:00am, leaving six of the family members injured.

One of their neighbour received burn injuries when he went to save the family members, the ASI said.

The injured were admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
