Australia relaxes air cargo ban
Australia has relaxed its embargo on cargo from Bangladesh.
The country will now allow air freights from Bangladesh if it goes via a first world country.
Talking to the media this afternoon, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon said that the relaxed condition was applied since May 5.
On December 19 last year, Australian government banned air cargo from Bangladesh and some other countries as a preventive security measure. However, sending cargo by waterways continued.
Local businessmen said the move hurt Bangladesh's business with Australia.
There is still embargo on any direct flight to Australian airport.
