Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF in Dinajpur
A Bangladeshi national was shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Dharmajoin border in Dinajpur’s Biral upazila early today.
The deceased was identified as Alam, 40, son of Mosahaq Ali of Kamdebpur village in the same upazila, said Nayed Mehdi Hasan, commander of Dharmajoin Border outpost (bop) under the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion 42 in Dinajpur.
Villagers identified Alam a cattle trader, our Dinajpur correspondent reports.
The BGB official told the correspondent that the members of BSF from Katalia camp shot Alam on the border when he was returning home from India through 20/10s pillar of India-Bangladesh border around 2:30am.
Villagers found the body this morning and took it to his home, the BGB official said.
The BGB officials of Dinajpur Battalion lodged a strong protest of the killing, added the commander.
