Prof Yasmeen Haque of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology today observed that BCL activists are not to blame for Sunday's attacks on the university teachers.

"The vice-chancellor used them [BCL activists] to avail his interest. They cannot be blamed for the incident," said Yesmeen, who was among the assaulted teachers.

She was talking to reporters after a protest programme on the Sust campus in Sylhet, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.

Echoing the same voice, her husband, Dr Zafar Iqbal, said, "I don't have any allegation against them [Bangladesh Chhatra League activists]. They have been used."

Earlier on Sunday, alleged BCL activists attacked a teachers' demonstration at Sust. Several teachers were abused by the ruling Awami League's student front.
