Conviction on weak evidence: Quasem’s family
Family of war criminal Mir Quasem Ali today claimed that the Jamaat-e-Islami leader was convicted on weak evidence and deposition in war crimes case.
"It has been proved by the chief justice's comments during the arguments hearing in the war crimes case," Khandker Ayesha Khatoon, wife of Mir Quasem, said in a message.
"Therefore, there is no legal base for upholding the death penalty for him," Mir Ahmad Bin Quasem, son of Mir Quasem, said quoting the message.
