‘Ctg JMB organiser’ held in Tangail

Detectives have arrested an alleged organiser of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), Chittagong unit.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Chittagong detective branch arrested Minhazul Islam alias Shajil alias Shajib, 24, in Nagarpur of Tangail in the early hours of Friday, Babul Akhter, additional deputy commissioner of the DB of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, told The Daily Star.
The detectives found Minhazul's link with the killing of three people in Majhirghat area of the city's Sadarghat on September 23 by charging a hand grenade while mugging the manager of a company.
The manager and Minhazul's two cohorts -- Robiul and Rafik – died in the attack.
The arrestee, a resident in Joererganj area of Mirsharai upazila, was moved to the port city, the ADC said.
