Depression at Bay, maritime ports asked to hoist signal 1
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no one as the deep depression over Southeast Bay moved further northwestwards and is likely to intensify further.
The deep depression was centered about 1,620km southwest Of Chattogram Port, 1,555km southwest of Cox’s Bazar Port, 1,550km South-Southwest Of Mongla Port and 1,530km South-Southwest Of Payra Port, according to the Bangladesh Met office.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised not to venture into the deep sea.
The maximum sustained wind speed within 48kms of the deep depression centre is about 50 kph and is rising to 60 kph, the Met office said.
The sea will remain rough near the deep depression centre.
