Derailment halts Mymensingh-Ctg-rail link

Rail communications of Mymensingh with Chattogram remain suspended since tonight following derailment of a train in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh.

Mosharraf Hossain, officer-in-charge of Government Railway Police in Mymensingh, said three compartments of a Chattogram-bound train from Mymensingh veered of the tracks near Gouripur Railway Station around 10:00pm.

The derailment cut off rail link of Mymensingh with Chattogram, our local correspondent reports quoting the police official.

A relief train started for the spot to remove the derailed compartments from the rail tracks, Mosharraf added.
