DU ‘Ka’ unit result postponed
Dhaka University authorities have postponed the results of ‘Ka’ unit admission test eight hours after the results were published.
“University authorities published the results of the ‘Ka’ unit admission test around 12:30 pm. But the results were postponed around 8:30 pm following the allegation of inconsistency over the result,” Science Faculty Dean Prof Tofail Ahmed told reporters at a briefing.
Earlier in the day, DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Akhtaruzzaman formally announced the results of the ‘Ka’ unit and ‘Cha’ units at the central admission test office of the Registrar building.
As per the result published earlier in the day, a total of 13.05 per cent candidates passed the ‘Ka’ unit admission test of Dhaka University for the academic session 2019-2020 while only 2.5 per cent qualified in the entry test of ‘Cha’ unit
After publishing the results, students brought allegations that the authorities counted right answer of Mathematics subject in Ka unit exam as the wrong answer.
Later, the university authorities primarily postponed the results to verify the allegation, prof Tofail Ahmed said.
Further details over the issue will be informed students through issuing notice, he added.
This year, a total 11,207 aspirants out of 85,879 obtained pass marks in the admission test of ‘Ka’ unit under Science Faculty.
On the other hand, 343 of 13,705 students qualified in the ‘Cha’ unit entry tests under Fine Art Faculty.
The results can be viewed through the university website (admission.eis.du.ac.bd) or via short message service (SMS) of any mobile operator.
