Elderly woman among two found dead in Faridpur
A youth and a woman were found dead in Madhukhali and Sadar upazilas in the district yesterday.
Police recovered the body of a young man from a crop field at Jannagar village in Madhukhali upazila in the morning.
The victim was identified as farmer Bashudev Mandal, 23, son of Khitisha Mandal of the village.
Khitisha Mandal said Bashudev went to visit his friend’s house around 5:00pm on Wednesday. He came out of his friend’s house around 7:00pm on the same day and remained missing. Later, locals found the body in the crop field yesterday morning.
Md Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Madhukhali Police Station, said on information, they recovered the body and sent it to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the law enforcers recovered the body of an unidentified woman, aged about 52, from a bush at Alalpur village in Sadar upazila in the afternoon.
Locals said they found the decomposed body in the bush around 12:30pm and informed police who later sent it to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
AFM Nasim, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said criminals might have killed the woman eight to ten days ago and dumped the body in the bush.
