Engage all political parties to stop such killings: BNP
BNP today said the government should engage all political parties to stop recurring of killings like the murder of Faisal Arefin Dipon, owner of a publishing house on Saturday.
"We call upon the government to convene a meeting of all political parties to tackle the present situation and to stop recurring of any such murder in future," said BNP Vice-chairman Maj (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.
He was talking to reporters after visiting Prof Abul Quasem Fazlul Huq, father of Dipan, at his Paribagh residence this evening.
He also demanded the government to form a judicial inquiry into the incidents to bring perpetrators to book immediately.
"Religious bigots take opportunity to accomplish their mission when democracy and culture of impunity prevail in a country," the BNP leader said, adding that there is no democracy in the country.
