Fahim Munaim to be buried tomorrow

Eminent journalist Syed Fahim Munaim, who died yesterday, will be buried at Banani graveyard in the capital tomorrow.

According to Maasranga Television, where Munaim served as the chief executive officer and chief editor, his first namaj-e-janaza will be held this morning at the Jatiya Press Club at 10:00am.

His second and third namaj-e-janaza will be held at Maasranga Television Centre on Bir Uttom Ziaur Rahman Road in Banani around 11:30am and Gulshan Azad Mosque after Jumma prayers, an official of Maasranga Television told The Daily Star.

Munaim, who devoted his whole life to building professional and ethical journalism in the country, died of cardiac arrest at his Gulshan residence on Wednesday at the age of 63.

Known for his very amicable behaviour to greet people with a great deal of warmth, Munaim was involved in the media industry for more than three decades in the country.

A former executive editor of The Daily Star, he also served as the executive director at the Daily Sangbad and managing editor at the Morning Sun, news agency UNB and weekly Dhaka Courier. He earned huge popularity among journalists during his stint there.
