Family doped, house looted in Kushtia

Four of a family were allegedly doped before their house looted of cash and valuables worth around Tk 5 lakh in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia early today.

The victims were Sahidul Islam Mollah, 62, Rubi Akter, 28, Shimu Akter, 30, and Sabina Akter, 36, reports our Kushtia correspondent quoting police.

Fingers are being pointed towards the housemaid, Saima Khatun, who is untraced since this morning. Cash, clothes, television set and laptops are missing.

The victims became unconscious after supper last night, said Mohibul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kumarkhali Police Station. "We are trying to trace the maid."  

Dr Taposh Kumar, residential medical officer (RMO) of Kushtia General Hospital said,"the victims are now out of danger."
