Four die after under-construction gate collapses in Sirajganj

At least four people died and five others were injured after part of an under-construction gate of a college collapsed at Sirajganj's Tarash upazila this afternoon.

A gate of M Mansur Ali College at Gulta Bazar in the upazila broke down around 3:00pm, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting Md Moniruzzaman, chairman of the upazila.

Three of the deceased were identified as Tozam Ali (65), Rashedul Islam (25), and Md Arif whose age could not be known yet.

The identity of one of the deceased could not be known yet.  

People from different areas gathered on the college grounds for a weekly market, when the incident occurred.

Three people died on the spot, while one person died while they were being treated at the Upazila Health Complex.

Md Mahbubul Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tarash Police Station also confirmed the incident and said the five injured are being taken to Sirajganj Medical College Hospital.
