Police arrested a fugitive convict at a mango orchard at Par Dilalpur village in Shibganj upazila of the district yesterday.

The arrestee was identified as Monirul Islam, 30, son of Nazrul Islam of Hajarbighi village.

Sub-Inspector of Shibganj Police Station Saiful Islam said on secret information, a police team raided the orchard and arrested Monirul.

Monirul was sentenced to five years' imprisonment in a case filed for smuggling phensidyl in 2011.
