Govt brings connectivity app for its officers

Bangladesh government today launched a mobile app for inter-connectivity among its officers that will allow chat, file sharing and video call among other features.
All government officers will be able to use the application, a cabinet press release said after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina launched the app at the Secretariat.
The app, named Alapon, with features of chat, online calls, video calls, group messaging, file sharing and location sharing, is available for free download in IOS and Google play store.

Premier Sheikh Hasina conversed with a government official during the launching ceremony ahead of today's regular cabinet meeting.
According to the press release, the app is well secured to keep the conversations and files safe. Also, it has been optimised to minimise cost for the government officers.
The app can only be accessed by a phone number that has been given to a government officer – that is under government pay scale – for the position.
