Iran foreign minister due tomorrow
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrives in Dhaka tomorrow evening to brief the Bangladeshi leaderships on the deal signed between Iran and global superpowers recently.
During the one-day-visit, he will call on President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday, according to Iranian embassy in Dhaka.
In July this year, Iran and six major world powers -- Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, France and Germany -- reached a nuclear deal capping more than a decade of negotiations with an agreement that could transform the Middle East.
Iran calls this agreement 'win-win' as it believed both sides addressed each other's concern.
The Iranian foreign minister will also hold bilateral meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali when the two ministers will discuss entire range of bilateral issues against the backdrop of international deal.
Javad Zarif will also meet media at 5:00pm on Wednesday at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel before wrapping up his less than 24-hour visit.
The foreign ministry officials said Dhaka is expecting that the visit would usher new beginning in the bilateral relations, particularly in diplomatic, economic and trade fronts, which witnessed years of interruption during international sanctions that adversely affected the economy of the oil and gas rich nation.
Iran is also eyeing wider trade cooperation with Bangladesh especially in energy sector as the sanctions imposed on Iran are set to be withdrawn following the deal signed among super powers.
