JS passes Tk 2.95 trillion budget

The parliament today unanimously passed the Tk 2.95 trillion budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year with a deficit of below five percent.

After passage of the budget, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury adjourned the 10th session parliament until 10:30am of July 5.

The budget has an outlay of Tk 2.95 trillion with Tk 97,000 crore for Annual Development Programme (ADP) and a deficit below five percent.

The government intends to reinvigorate growth, raise tax-GDP ratio, boost investment and create employment opportunities among other goals through the budget.
