Thousands of posts have flooded different social media platforms in a protest against the brutal killing of 13-year-old Rajon in Sylhet.
One of the perpetrators filmed the cruel act and uploaded it on Facebook which was then shared widely.
The video sparked outrage on social media and initiated an outburst of online activism demanding punishment for the heinous crime.
People were infuriated by the barbaric nature of the murder which was videotaped and released in a popular social media forum for the mass to witness.
Sheikh Md Samiul Alam alias Rajon was seen being tied to a pole and repeatedly beaten until he succumbed to his injuries, howling for help, water and his life.
The young Sylhet boy, a vegetable vendor and son of micro-bus driver Sheikh Azizur Rahman, was beaten dead for his alleged involvement in a petty theft case.
The hashtag #JusticeforRajon emerged as a protest against the crime demanding justice for this barbaric crime.
Along with a frenzy of statuses opposing the crime, shunning the cruelty behind the boys' death, people have also opened a Facebook page calling upon the masses to show solidarity, to bring justice to Rajon.
