BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia may go to her party's Nayapaltan headquarters in Dhaka tomorrow to attend a function on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh.

It will be after a long two years that the BNP chief will be visiting the office.

"Khaleda will attend the programme around 4:00pm," Sayrul Kabir Khan, a press wing member of the BNP chairperson told The Daily Star today.

Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (Jasas) is scheduled to arrange a cultural programme there to welcome the Bangla New Year 1422.

It was back in March 2013 that Khaleda Zia last visited her party office – when law enforcers ransacked the BNP headquarters and detained around 166 people.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia have exchanged greetings each other on the occasion of the Bangla New Year.

"This will bring a gentle breeze, peace, prosperity and happiness for the countrymen," BNP foreign affairs secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon told at a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan central office this afternoon.

"We believe that the exchange would also put an end to the prevailing politics of confrontation," Ripon added.
