Law and order satisfactory, Kamal reiterates
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today reiterated his claim that the law and order situation in the country is satisfactory.
While briefing reporters at the secretariat about the current law and order situation of the country this morning, the minister again said the attacks on publishers and bloggers are "isolated incidents" and such attacks are taking place across the world.
Replying to a query regarding a "hit list of Ansarullah Bangla Team" and the murders of four-five people of the list, Kamal said the law enforcement agencies are giving their all-out efforts in performing their duties.
"We arrested the mastermind of Ansarullah Bangla Team and several others are currently under trial. We will take action if another culprit is rising there."
Hinting at Jamaat-e-Islami, the minister also claimed that the attackers are carrying out these attacks disguising them as other militant organisations.
Asked whether Jamaat activists are carrying out the attacks, Kamal said, "Our primary investigations indicates that Ansarullah Bangla Team, IS (Islamic State), al-Qaeda who are claiming responsibility of the attacks have their origin in Jamaat-e-Islami."
The home minister's comments came three days into the brutal killing of Jagriti Prakashani owner Faisal Arefin Dipan and attack on Shuddhoswar owner Ahmedur Rashid Tutul. Bloggers Tareque Rahim and Ranadipam Basu were also injured in the attack at Shuddhoswar's Lalmatia office.
