Van driver hit by bus dies

A van driver has died after being hit by a bus in Dhaka’s Motijheel area.

The incident took place in front of the Wapda Bhaban around 3am today, said Yasir Arafat, officer-in-charge (OC) of Motijheel Police Station.

The van driver, in his 50s, suffered critical injuries as the bus hit the van from behind, the OC told The Daily Star.

Locals rushed him to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where he was declared dead around 6am. The deceased’s identity could not be known immediately.
