Mother, son killed in Sylhet road crash
A mother and her six-year-old son were killed when a truck collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Sylhet’s Gowainghat upazila this afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Elora Parveen, 38, and Sajid Mia, 6, wife and son of army official Sergeant Suja Ahmed of Dhaka Cantonment, our local correspondent reports quoting police.
Two other passengers of the auto-rickshaw and from the same family—Mahin and Sajib -- were injured in the accident, said Abdul Jalil, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gowainghat Police Station.
The deceased along with the injured were going to visit Jaflong in the auto-rickshaw when it collided with the truck coming from the other side on Sylhet-Gowainghat road in the Satigram area around 2:00 pm, the OC added.
The injured were rushed to Gowainghat Upazila Health Complex. Later, they were shifted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
