‘Mymensigh 4-murder suspect’ found dead
A day into the murder of a man and his three sons, the body of the prime suspect of the killings was found floating in a pond in Mymensingh this morning.
Informed by locals, police recovered the body of Jamal Hossain, 22, son of Lal Miah from a pond nearby his house.
The body bore injury marks in its chest and neck, said Murad Ali, a sub-inspector of Nandail Police Station.
Police said Billal Hossain, 58, a carpenter by profession, and his three sons -- Farid, 28, Pavel, 18, and Himel, 16 -- were stabbed to death over a family feud in Nandail Upazila last night.
Billal's elder brother Lal Mia and his two sons -- Jamal and Kamal -- stormed their house around 10:30pm wielding sharp weapons and stabbed them indiscriminately, the SI said yesterday.
Lal Miah demanded Tk 40,000 from his sister Kohila Begum. As Kohila denied to pay the money, Lal Miah and his men beat up Kohila and her three daughters indiscriminately on Friday.
Kohila's daughters -- Kulsum, Fatema and Rehena -- were admitted at Kishoreganj Sadar Hospital in Kishoreganj district, police said.
Billal and his family embroiled in an angry quarrel with Lal Mia and his family over the incident, which triggered the brutal attack.
Police also arrested one Khokon, 35, of the same area early today for his alleged involvement in the killings of Billal and his three sons. Later, He was produced before a Mymensingh court that sent him to jail, police said.
