None in CHT to lose their land

Obaidul Quader tells Rangamati meeting

The government is determined to fully implement Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) peace accord, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said at a public reception in the district town yesterday.

The district unit of ruling Awami League (AL) arranged the reception marking Quader's first visit to CHT after being elected general secretary of AL.

"The government is working for peace and development in CHT. CHT Land Commission has already started work for solving land dispute which is a major problem in three hill districts of CHT," Quader said at the programme.

"No one will lose their land. Please don't listen to any rumour from any vested quarter and extend help to the commission to continue their work.

"Process is on to start construction of 130-kilometre-long Rajastoli-Farua-Barkal-Teghamukh road and 10-kilometre-long Bogachari-Naniarchar-Longudu road very soon," he said.
