'Primary schools to be turned into recreation centres to check dropout'
The primary schools across the country are being turned into recreation centres to check dropout rate of children, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossen told parliament today.
“We are working tirelessly to turn the primary schools into impressive, attractive and a recreation centre for the children to check their dropout,” he said in the parliament responding to a query of MP (reserved seat) Khudeza Nasrin Akhter Hossain.
The state minister said several sorts of activities are going on to check the dropout and to ensure enrolment of the children by conducting survey in the catchment areas at the beginning of the year.
To make the effort a success, mothers’ congregation and yard meeting are being held and home visit are also being conducted spontaneously, the minister said.
