Belkuchi UNO sues 7 ruling party men for death threat
Sirajganj’s Belkuchi upazila nirbahi officer today filed a case against seven local leaders and activists of ruling party’s associate bodies and front for allegedly threatening him with death.
UNO SM Saifur Rahman filed the case with Belkuchi Police Station this afternoon, Anwarul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police station, told our Pabna correspondent.
Belkuchi upazila Jubo League Convener Sazzadul Haque Reza, Shramik League President Arman Ali and BCL leader Riad Hossain are among the accused, he said.
According to the case statement, a group of 20-25-ruling party men led by Sazzadul Haque Reza entered the UNO’s office room yesterday and harassed him for not selecting their list for supplying rice and paddy to government godowns.
They also threated the UNO to kill him, the UNO sated in the case statement.
UNO Saifur Rahman told our correspondent that Reza and his supporters have a syndicate for long. “As I don’t allow their list, they became angry and harass me at my office. They also gave death threat,” the UNO said.
