Train communications of Dhaka with Rajshahi, Khulna and Rangpur divisions restored after six hours of disruption following a derailment of a wagon at Sayedabad Rail Station in Sirajganj today.

Earlier, four wheels of a bogy of a cargo train veered off the tracks near the Bangabandhu Bridge at about 8:15 am, halting train communication of Dhaka with 19 districts of northern and southern parts of the country, reports our Sirajganj correspondent,

Later, the train service restored around 1:30 pm when a relief train salvaged the bogy, said Md Sayed Iqbal, officer-in-charge (OC) of Government Railway Police (GRP) Station in Sirajganj.

A rescue train from the Ishwardi station reached the spot and removed the derailed train from the line, resuming train movement at about 2.15pm the OC added.
