‘Wanted trafficker’ arrested in Cox’s Bazar

Police today claimed arrest of a wanted human trafficker who is also a local government member in Cox's Bazar Sadar upazila.

The arrestee was identified as Ekramul Huq, 32, a member of Chowfaldandi Union Parishad, reports our Cox's Bazar correspondent quoting police.

He is an accused in a case filed for human trafficking in the district, said Minhaj Mahmud, in-charge of Eidgah Police Investigation Centre.

A contingent of police raided his house at Dakshinpara village at 6:00am and detained him. The accused will be produced at court later in the day.
