Woman murdered in Bagerhat, husband suspect

A woman has been hacked to death in Sharankhola upazila of Bagerhat, for which the police are suspecting the absconding husband.

The victim was identified as Lucky Begum, 24, our local correspondent reports. The husband, Nurul Amin, is now in hiding with their children.

Sharankhola Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Mofizur Rahman Sheikh said, Lucky was beaten and later hacked to death last night by her husband.

The body was recovered this morning and sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy. A murder case was filed against Nurul by the victim’s brother.

Nurul said to have telephoned Lucky’s brother and said that she was assaulted and should be hospitalised, the police official said quoting the case statement.

Police say, they are trying to arrest the accused husband.
