From next year, there will be no need of an e-token for aspirants looking to visit India.

Travellers with confirmed air, train or bus tickets purchased from authorised operators can submit their visa application directly, Indian High Commission in Dhaka said today.

“No applicant in Bangladesh with a confirmed journey ticket to India (by air, train or bus) will require an e-token/online appointment date,” reads a press release of the Indian mission.

The move, that will be introduced from January 1, 2017, comes “as part of the ongoing efforts to streamline, liberalise and ease the process of securing Indian visas,” the press release says.

Travellers can submit complete visa application forms along with confirmed journey tickets at IVAC Mirpur, Alamin Apon Heights 27/1/B (1st floor), Shyamoli from 8:00am to 1:00pm.

The date of journey should be after seven days but within one month of submission of the visa application form, the press release instructed.

Previously in October, in a gesture of India’s visa liberalisation policy, the high commission of the neighbouring country removed e-token system for women travellers.
