Oishee’s death reference hearing resumes
The High Court today began hearing on the death reference and appeals in a case filed against Oishee Rahman on charge of killing her parents in 2013.
The bench of Justice Zahangir Hossain and Justice Md Zahangir Hossain began the hearing with Assistant Attorney General Atiqul Haque Salim reading out from the paper book of the case.
On August 16, 2013, the bodies of Mahfuzur, inspector of Special Branch of Police, and his wife Swapna Rahman were recovered from their Chamelibagh house in the capital.
A Dhaka court on November 12, 2015 found their daughter Oishee guilty of killing her parents and sentenced her to death.
The death reference of the case reached the HC on November 19, 2015 for examining the verdict that sentenced Oishee Rahman to death.
Oishee later filed an appeal with the HC challenging the lower court verdict on her.
