Over one hundred protesters under the banner of Progressive Students Alliance besieged the VC office for an hour since 12:30pm as per their previous ultimatum, said Liton Nondi, president of DU unit of Chhatra Union.
Campus sources said the university vice chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique was in the office during the agitation.
Earlier, they brought out a procession on the campus to press home their demand.
Despite their repeated call, the university authorities as well as the law enforcers are yet to take any step to arrest the culprits though 22 days have already passed into the incident, they alleged.
About 20 women were sexually harassed that evening by a gang for over an hour during the festivities of Baishakh celebrations near TSC. Allegations were that the incident happened under the nose of police posted nearby.
