Over 4,000 birds rescued in Bagerhat
The forest department rescued more than 4,000 birds of different species from a depot in Kachua upazila of Bagerhat today.
The birds include 4000 munias and over 20 parrots and mynahs, Wildlife Inspector Asim Mallick of Dhaka Forest Department said to The Daily Star.
The traders used to keep birds in the depot for selling those illegally, Mallick said.
The drive was on till 1:00pm when the report was filed.
None was arrested in this connection.
